A zero-waste fashion narrative
Legend has it that Johann Faust lived from 1480 to 1540. Despite his great success as a scholar, he was dissatisfied with life. He traded his soul for years of knowledge and pleasure, resulting in chaos for all those around him.
In earlier versions of the story, Faust genuinely believes he is irredemable, and ends up being doomed to his fate.
However in Goethe's interpretation, Faust is forgiven by none other than the spirits of the Earth. In fact, not only are Faust's actions forgvien, but all of mankind's mistakes as well.

The global fashion industry generates 1.53 trillion dollars annually. 15% of all fabric used in garment production is wasted. It never makes it out of the cutting room.
Profit is a relatively novel human invention, as is waste, and the results of these inventions become more visible by the day.
Most discussions of “green” fashion today are still fundamentally centered around the monetization of responsibility- of selling sustainable ways of life as aspirational rather than acknowledging the fact that, for most of human history, these methods were fully integrated into daily life.
